The Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart is a place of worship located at 1111 St. Joseph Parkway in downtown Houston. The Most Reverend Nicholas A. Gallagher, the third Bishop of Galveston, established Sacred Heart Parish as the fourth parish in Houston, Texas on November 22, 1896, to serve the growing Catholic population of Houston. The Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart is steeped in both history and faith and serves the 1.3 million Roman Catholics in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.

The cruciform co-cathedral is classic in terms of design, with the primary ceiling reaching more than 70 feet in height. The building also features a 115-foot domed roof topped by a 16-foot cross. The 1,820 seat structure is bound by San Jacinto, Fannin and Jefferson streets. City officials expect the new $40 million Cathedral to be an integral part of the Main Street Project and the continued development of downtown Houston.

To begin the architectural process, the design team traveled to Europe to visit scores of cathedrals, immersing themselves in the rich history and architecture of these magnificent structures.
FMG developed the brand identity, marketing material and environmental graphics for the cathedral.
