For more than 150 years, Saint Agnes Hospital has been dedicated to the art of healing by providing exceptional care to the greater Baltimore area. Built on a strong foundation of excellent medical care and compassion. Saint Agnes Hospital is a 287-bed, full-service teaching hospital with residency programs in a number of medical and surgical specialties. In 1862, The Daughters of Charity began Saint Agnes Hospital, carrying on their centuries-old mission of service. The first Catholic hospital in Baltimore, Saint Agnes was originally created to provide nursing care for the poor. The facility moved to its present location in 1876 and was reorganized as a full-service hospital in 1906.
In 1999, Saint Agnes’ parent organization, The Daughters of Charity National Health System, joined the Sisters of St. Joseph Health System to create Ascension Health, the largest non-profit health care organization in the nation. As the current parent organization of Saint Agnes Hospital, Ascension Health is dedicated to reaching new heights in health care and service to our communities, as well as serving as a model for faith-based health care throughout the world.
St. Agnes Hospital has recently completed a $180 M Campus Revitalization Project. This project included the addition of a new Inpatient Bed Tower and Medical Office Building, an upgrade and expansion of the existing Central Utilities Plant, a new 600 car Parking Structure, renovation to the existing Bed Tower and Cancer Center and major reorganization of the Hospital Campus. FMG, working with RTKL and KLMK, was responsible for developing a comprehensive campus exterior and interior environmental graphics master-plan for all components noted above.
