Inova Schar Cancer Institute is an international center for advanced cancer care and research. Collaborating with clinical and scientific partners, they conduct genomic and translational research to better understand, predict, prevent, and eliminate cancer. Inova received a $50 million gift from developer and philanthropist Dwight Schar launching the Inova Dwight and Martha Schar Cancer Institute, now renamed Inova Schar Cancer Institute. The center anchors the new Inova Center for Personalized Health recently established in Fairfax, providing a platform for the development and application of advances in cancer treatment and personalized medicine through genomics.
Located at the new Inova Center for Personalized Health, the ISCI coordinates current cancer services provided across all five Inova hospitals and presents a new and unique opportunity for the development of a national comprehensive cancer program in relation to treatment and research. The ISCI is the largest cancer facility in Northern Virginia and the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. It provides a state-of-the-art imaging, a variety of treatment technologies and disease-specific physician expertise to deal with common, rare and unusual cancers.
FMG is currently developing a comprehensive wayfinding and environmental graphics program for the exterior, interior, and garage. The scope of services by FMG also include a donor recognition program and welcome wall graphics for the interior lobby.
